One of the first fully multitasking telephone applications for iPhone OS4 is now available, jointly developed by Xenialab and 10993

Milan, 8 July 2010

10993 S.r.l., a landline telephone company and owner of the international brand name Gloobo, and Xenialab, leader in the development of applications for unified communication, have become among the first to release a telephone application designed to optimize the handling of international calls for the new Apple iPhone operating system OS4.

Version 1.1 of Gloobo, available from the App Store, integrates the following features:

1.    Multitasking

Less than a month after the release of OS4, the Xenialab and 10993 srl development team has managed to create a version of the Gloobo App that runs in the background.

One of the key innovations of iPhone OS4 is that applications may be kept open and switched between with a simple double click on the home button and tap on the new chosen application.

For the application to work after it has been minimized, it needs to have been designed specifically to run in the OS4 environment.
Many applications from the international calling world are not currently available in multitasking versions.
They may run on OS4, but if we try to restore them after minimizing them, they are relaunched. In other words they do not exploit the true potential of multitasking.

Gloobo is one of the first applications, designed to optimize the cost of international calls, that has all the native features of iPhone OS4.
If you run it in the background, and then restore it from the taskbar, you see exactly the same screen as you saw before minimizing it!
So you can go back to using it from where you left off before you switched to another application.

1.    Enhanced graphical user interface

Gloobo’s graphical user interface has been improved to optimize its performance in any type of environment and ensure good service even where connectivity is poor.

Dialling is now more efficient and visible: the numbers have been moved into the foreground on the top bar.
Your iPhone contacts may be accessed immediately so you can make calls using the benefits of Gloobo in fast call  mode, thanks to a specific menu.
Calls to the web services to access user data are now quicker and work in the background, thus making the application more constantly available and improving its usability on the whole.
The keypad has also been designed for better accessibility than in the previous version.

The Gloobo App is available for free from the Apple Store:
